Today was supposed to be a big day for Penelope. She was supposed to be launching her around the world tour today, but obviously, that wasn't happening now. It was just too dangerous with all the monsters, so earlier this week she called her publicist and made up a whole story about how she is deep in her work helping needy kids and that she wont be able to make the tour. Maybe it'll spark some good publicity for her and wont totally ruin her career. Heck, who is she kidding, her career was over. Nothing was going right, she's losing her career, she's screwed everything up with a boy she liked, and she's lost all control over her life.
Penelope spent most of her morning following the camp activities. You know the whole Mythology Class, Combat Training, and Pegasus Riding. It was actually pretty neat, but it wasn't enough to distract her from everything going wrong in her life. Heck she didn't even have friends in this camp to really talk to about anything, they didn't even know who she was. Sure she could spill her guts and have everyone want to be her friend because of who she is, but honestly she wanted friends that didn't care about her name, or have people recognize her without spilling the beans.
She needed something to get her out of the dumps, something to make her feel like everything was how it was supposed to be. So where else would a performer go other than the Amphitheater?
Keeping her head low, she made her way down there. This was kind of a private event and she didn't want just anybody following her. So she had on the typical camp half blood shirt and some regular jeans, definently not her normal attire, but it helped her blend in with the crowd more and would help her sneak into the Amphitheater without being noticed.
As far as she knew she made it all the way there undetected, so she went straight to business. Grabbing the guitar she stashed there earlier, she closed her eyes and imagined that she was on tour. She could practically hear the fans cheering her name, feel the lights beating on her face, and the adrenaline pumping.
Strumming the guitar she started belting out the lyrics to her latest single, "You see me standing there, yeah boy i'm waiting for you." The feeling of being on stage infront of her stage was actually pretty intense, it was almost like it was real, and that was enough to keep her going. She strummed her little heart out and got through the first chorus.
"I'm gonna show you what it's like,
Show you how it feels,
Gonna take away that smile.
Yeah, that's right,
I just wanna break your heart!"
She kept going along as her imaginary crowd cheered her name, "Penelope! Penelope!". She could even swear she heard someone singing along with her, but it was probably all in her head.
"You heart!
Your heart!
I'm going to break your heart!"
As the song ended, Penelope kept strumming about to transition into a different song when she heard a loud noise. It snapped her out of her trance, and she looked around bewildered.
